WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY REFUND?

Don't leave money unclaimed. Let our experienced team help you recover your annual tax refund quickly, securely, and with confidence.

The IRS typically processes tax returns and sends refunds within 6-8 weeks. Most clients receive their refunds in an average of 21 days, however, this depends on the complexity of your return and the credits you are eligible to receive. To ensure you receive your refund faster, make sure you choose the option to have your refund be directly deposited into your bank account.

FAQs

1. How do I know if I am entitled to a tax refund?

You are entitled to a refund if, after filing your annual tax return, the calculation shows that you paid more tax than you actually owed. This usually happens for two reasons:

Itemized / Personal Deductions: If during the year you requested official invoices for legally allowed expenses (such as medical fees, school tuition, mortgage interest, or retirement contributions).

Excess Withholdings: If your employers or clients withheld more tax than necessary.

Tip: When you finish filling out your annual return on the tax portal, the system will automatically show you a summary. If the final amount is labeled as a "Tax Credit" or "Balance in favor" (Saldo a favor), you are eligible for a refund.

2. What are the key requirements to successfully request a refund?

For the tax authority to authorize and deposit your money smoothly, you need the following:

Approved Tax Return: You must have correctly submitted your annual tax return for the corresponding fiscal year.

Your Own Bank Account (Routing/CLABE/IBAN): You must register an active bank account that is under your legal name. If you register someone else's account, the deposit will be rejected for security reasons.

Valid Electronic Signature or Password: Depending on the refund amount, the system will require you to verify your identity using your up-to-date digital credentials or electronic signature.

3. How long does it take to get the money, and why might it be delayed?

Generally, tax authorities offer an "automatic refund" process that takes between 5 to 10 business days after submitting the return. However, the maximum legal timeframe can extend up to 40 business days if a manual review is required.

Common reasons for delays or rejections:

The bank rejected the deposit because the account number is incorrect or does not match your legal name.

There are tax discrepancies (the income you declared does not match the invoices or tax forms issued by your employers).

One of your personal deductions was rejected because it failed to meet requirements (for example, paying a doctor in cash instead of using a debit/credit card or bank transfer).
